Finding new leads can seem like a tiresome task, but if you get in the practice of looking for them all the time, they begin to fall into your lap. When you take the time to look around, you will see the potential for new clients everywhere, it’s just a matter of getting them to notice and know you, even for a niche business owner.
Start with the most obvious, and mine new leads from your existing client base. Ask clients for referrals every day. Offer something in return if you can, like a discount, or just to return the favor. Make use of advertising tools with your customers, like a calendar with your business’s name on it or leave a few pens behind with your logo. Find out what trade organizations your clients are a part of and join.
Take advantage of your website and set up a mailing list. Make sure visitors take the time to sign up by offering something in return, like a newsletter, a tips list, or an informational eBook. You want them to know that you are a professional and you know your stuff. A great way to bring traffic to your website is by blogging or posting keyword rich articles online with links to your web page. Blogging and professional article posting is a great way to establish yourself as an industry expert and get your name noticed.
It is a must to get your name seen by the community to bring in new prospects, and advertising in the local paper is a great method. One way to do this without the expense is to issue a press release about your business. Use anything you can drum up to create the release- an office remodel, a new employee, or a new service you are offering. As long as you write it up, most newspapers will print it for you, as long as it’s news.
Within the aisles of your town’s library, you will find many tools to gather leads. The library’s reference and research materials can give you detailed market information to use, and the Research Librarian can help you find the information you need. Additionally, the library provides many useful public records such as lists of new businesses and new homeowners.
When you are driving, be watching for any new businesses you see along the way. If you are stuck at a light, look around you and make note of any cars with business logos on display. This is a great way to get leads, especially leads for small businesses that you could otherwise miss. It might be easier to use your cell phone’s camera to capture the names and addresses of new businesses and company vehicles. When you take the time to consistently look around, you will find that new leads are everywhere.

Have you wasted money in your pursuit of generating income on the web? Stop forking over money trying to generate income online! It is not necessary! I know for a fact that there are plenty of terrific home business opportunities to generate a great income from home that are completely, and I mean 100%, free to start, and that is a fact.
Trust me, I have been able to successfully earn income online with 100% no cost online home business opportunities, all it takes is the right associate program, a little practice and personal learning, and some dedication and consistent effort. If you are one of the entrepreneurs who has a lot of motivation and drive to put effort and time into a internet home business, you can for sure earn money online without ever investing a single red cent.
In my experience, the good affiliate marketing programs all have three things in common. The first is that they are free. Sure there are numerous pay-to-join affiliate programs, but a lot of these are nothing apart from home biz scams. There are lots of rewarding opportunities which are constantly looking for “incentivized” folks to join, and they aren’t just looking to drain your wallet.
Another sign of a great earnings source is a program that has got a reputable company behind it. Too many of the fly-by-night opportunities are not backed by a stable company, and therefore you don’t have any assurance that your time (and money) is being invested sensibly. If the company is credible and has a safe company behind it, you will not need to look tricky to see it. If you can’t find any history on it, turn around and run.
And the very last thing which will help you in finding and use the best home income opportunity is to look whether or not the program hosts its own forum. Now this doesn’t mean that all home run business opportunities that do not have a forum are cons, but the really great ones will always offer you one.
This isn’t only advantageous because it offers a source of help, and it announces plenty about the reliability and stability of the program. Finding the best opportunity (and avoiding scams) is the first step in changing into a successful home business owner.

Web design and the pretty package.
So what is a pretty package? A nice looking website to impress your friends, but it’s not always about looks, is it?It must be one of the hardest things for a business to think about, who do you choose to build your new company website?
With the amount of web designers around nowadays it genuinely is difficult to know who you can trust?
Before you employ anyone to provide you with your web design, have a look at some of their recent work; ask if you can speak to some of their customers, read the testimonials on their website, it goes a little way into helping you to make the right choice. Some may be a lot cheaper than others, and this doesn’t have to mean they aren’t any good, others charge a lot of money so many people just presume they are going to be the best, this is not always the case, it could just mean they have large overheads to cover.
You must do your research; get at least 3 different quotes and compare, both on prices and also on quality of work.
Another key factor in deciding which web design company to use is how long have they been in business? If they have been around for a few years it’s usually a good indication they will continue to be around for a few more years.
Just like any business, there is always going to be the “fly by nights”, those who think they will jump on the bandwagon and make a quick fortune, when they realise this is not going to happen overnight, they often just walk away, leaving any clients they have just dangling high and dry.
There are many very good website design agencies in your area , you see what they can do, you like the way they design websites and you want them to build your new company website, and rightly so. However, you have to remember, if it looks good and impresses everyone you show it to, doesn’t mean it will ever bring in the business.
Many website designers will use an off the shelf software program , such as Microsoft FrontPage, while others will choose the most popular, macromedia (adobe) Dreamweaver.
The more popular these days is the adobe studio version, this gives you Dreamweaver, fireworks and flash etc. all in one package, the only problem with these software programs is the fact that the code is not as uncontaminating as developing a website using something like notepad, although FrontPage is probably the worst culprit out of them all.
The code in your pages are very important to your search engine results, simply because there is less rubbish within the code, its much cleaner and hence will load a little faster and will conform to the current web standards.
Another point to understand about good clean page code is that the search engine spiders will only read so far down your page code, if all its reading is such things as fonts and javascript, it won’t learn much about what your page is about.
This is actually not always possible due to your customer’s requirements, you know, the ones that want this silly thing to happen here and there, with these people, you can only offer advice .
So do remember, that new shiny all bells and whistles pretty package is not always the right direction, you will realise this after a while when your website is still not listed within the first few pages of any of the search engines, what happens then, you will need to have a new web design, re-built and coded correctly, optimised and marketed.
So “don’t be fooled by a pretty package”, this phrase has fooled many a small business and your new website will probably never generate any business simply because of the way it was constructed.

Today, I read from Ty Tribble’s Blog, an excellent internet marketing guru, by the way, about a review he had on an MLM Leads company you may or may not have heard of called Cutting Edge Media. Here is my take from his review:
Cutting Edge Media appoints Peter Wilson as President and CEO
Taken from Ty’s 22. Feb, 2010 blog post:
He was named President and Chief Executive Officer. It goes on to mention that he focuses on technology-enabled business and marketing services.
He works closely with business owners and marketers.
I figure, this is a short and sweet update on this company. As there are many lead companies out there, this is one I am familiar with and now, for me, has more integrity and credibility since it is through Ty Tribble.
And that is the way it goes…credibility. Don’t go by me, but do your own due diligence and check this out as well as other lead companies.
Another really great credibility source I have found with system in place is through http://www.passionfire.com with Doug Firebaugh. Here is his ezine article on the top 15 Leads companies for MLM leads.
Hope this helps you in developing and growing your online businesses!

6 Adwords Campaign Mistakes You Must Avoid
If you use Google Adwords you know that even the smallest mistakes can end up costing you serious money. Simple things like not optimizing your campaigns properly especially on competitive keywords can not only trim down your return on investment (ROI) but can also hinder your growth.
If used well, Adwords can help you to get high return on investment (ROI) for the keywords or key phrases that are important to your internet business and also improve your website’s targeted traffic.
Search engine PPC campaigns and keyword prices are becoming more expensive and it is therefore essential for you to avoid mistakes that will result in poorly performing PPC campaigns. beneath are 6 mistakes to avoid if you want to have successful Adwords campaign.
1. Creating long lists of poorly targeted keywords
When you first set out to create your AdWords campaign, it is import to choose your keywords carefully and hold the temptation to create a long unless list of useless or generic keywords. For example, if you ran a mobile phone shop then, it wouldn’t be sensible to target the keywords “mobile phone” as the cost per click (CPC) for this generic keyword/ phrase would be amazingly high when compared to a more descriptive and relevant keyword/phrase, such as “Sony Ericsson Xperia X10.”
Do not choose keywords that are nothing to do with the products or services you offer i.e. if you only sell products do not choose keywords for repairs or spares, these phrases may well bring visitors to your site but produce no conversions as you do not offer these services.
It’s important to identify and visualize your specific internet business niche, so that you can market directly to people who want the products or services that your internet business offers. Do not fool yourself into a position of using broader basis as this will end up negatively impacting you as well as costing you money.
2. Lack of keywords in your ad text
Ad text is probably the most poorly done part of Adwords as most people forget that when they are creating descriptive ad copy, it’s imperative to put in their keywords in to the title and description while maintaining the balance between clarity and relevancy. Your internet marketing ad copy should be written in such a way that anyone reading it will understand exactly what to do and what will happen when they click on your ad.
3. Utilizing single campaigns
Once you sorted out your ads into into easily identified ad groups, you can move on and create your campaigns. At this stage you should have created ads relating to each product specifically, you now need to group these into one container that describes them.
Let’s use the example of a florist. They have created ad groups for ‘White Roses’, White Tulips and White Chrysanthemums’. The florist now needs to create a container named ‘White Flower Bunches’ or ‘Flower Bunches White ’ – (remember red flowers maybe too generic) to hold all of the ad groups in the campaign. This process is then repeated for red flowers, gifts or anything else the florist may sell.
Having highly organized campaigns is the key to determining which ads are creating the optimal conversions. Do not just put all your ads into a single campaign — split them into unlike campaigns to make tracking and amending the ad groups easier.
4. Using broad match only
When you start serving your ads, you should make sure you take advantage of the Adwords Ad serving service. You should also take advantage of the phrase matching options that AdWords makes available for your campaigns, if you are not doing this it is likely that you are missing out on potential customers and creating higher CPC for your campaign.
Broad matches are generally less targeted than exact and phrase matches. Broad matching is the default option under which your ads appear for expanded matches such as plurals or relevant keyword variations.
If you use phrase matching, an ad will appear for your search term in the specific order you put them in, once in a while they appear for other terms also. The most targeted option is Exact matching, which works by showing your ad for the exact keyword you chose. There is also an option to use negative keywords. The negative keyword option is also a great tool as it lets you differentiate keywords you do not want the ads to appear for. Here’s a quick example of how these targeting options work:
· Broad match: Default option: Plumbing Technician London
· Phrase match: Surround the keyword in quotes: “Plumbing Technician London”
· Exact match: Surround the keyword in square brackets: Plumbing Technician London
· Negative match: Place a negative character before the keyword: -Plumbing Technician London
Make sure you take time to explore and test all of these different matching techniques as not all will be right for your specific campaign.
5. Failing to optimize ad serving for your ads
When you start serving your ads, you should make sure you take advantage of the AdWords ad serving service, this service help to ensure that your most popular ads are displayed more often for any specific keyword or phrase founded on its click through rate (CTR). This works by making more use of your popular ads and less use of those ads that people are not clicking on thus giving you more ‘bang for your buck’ as the expression says.
Basically the AdWords platform gives far more weight to ads with higher click through rates, displaying them more often than ads with lower CTRs in the same ad group, but you must use the serving service for this to work best for you.
6. Failing to track results
Performance of your AdWords campaign’s is important and in order to tweak and refine your process or remove poorly performing ads you need to regularly track your internet business website campaign results, this will help you identify which keywords work and which do not. By using any of Google’s tracking tools or any other supplier tools (most are free) you will be able to do this form of monitoring.
Google has built into the AdWords interface Google Analytics web analytics tools which can provide you with in-depth coverage on all aspects of your campaign’s performance. Setting goals for a campaign will allow you to see whether the campaign is over or under performing.
As you can see these 6 mistakes can cost you dearly not only in time but in monetary terms as well. Try to remember what your goal is for using AdWords and stick to it. Ensure you do not make these mistakes and hopefully you will have a far more successful Adword campaign with a high return on investment (ROI) for your internet business.
